The festival is brimming with excitement, presenting 130 films from 50 countries, 13 of which are international Oscar-nominated films. The program also features a selection of films for digital screenings via Festival on Demand*. The festival takes place between the 9th and 20th of November, opening with Sweden's Academy Award submission.
Multiple Oscar-nominated actor Viggo Mortensen received international attention in the early 2000s with his role as Aragorn in the epic fantasy adventure trilogy The Lord of the Rings. In the 31st edition of the Stockholm International Film Festival, Mortensen makes his debut as both director and screenwriter with the drama Falling. He is now awarded the honorable Stockholm Achievement Award 2020.
