STS Education launches free online language courses

Seeing as many young people around the world are unable to leave their homes due to self-isolation guidelines in many countries, STS Education has begun to offer free online language classes for their students. The company sees it as part of their duty to do whatever they can to provide young people with the opportunity to keep learning about the world. Given the current situation, these online courses are a way to keep students engaged and active while remaining in their homes.

Three languages are being offered: English, Spanish and French, with sessions taking place twice per week for each language. Classes started on May 11^th and were an immediate success, with almost 3,300 students registered. Due to the great demand, three different levels of English were opened: beginner, intermediate and advanced. Moreover, although classes were originally planned to run throughout May and June, the reception has been so positive, that some of the courses have been extended for another month, now running through July, as well.

John Cedegårdh, CEO of STS Education, had this to say about the courses: “It’s sad that many young people have been forced to stay at home, unable to travel, study or even enjoy the outdoors. Luckily, we live in an age where this isn’t an obstacle to learning new things and meeting new people. Rather than wait for travel restrictions and self-isolation policies to be removed, we determined that it was our duty to bring a little piece of the world to our students. It’s been a great success so far, with thousands of students from around the world joining the classes.”
