SOLAR. Strengthening Osteopathic Leadership and Research.
Svenska Osteopatförbundet (The Swedish Osteopathic Association) is proud to support, alongside several international associations, the vital work conducted by SOLAR-ARCCIM’s team of research-focused osteopaths.
Our heartfelt thanks go to Distinguished Prof. Jon Adams and Associate Prof. Amie Steel for their leadership over the years. The group’s members, including our Swedish colleagues Dr Robert Shaw and Dr Niklas Sinderholm Sposato, have so far published over 50 articles, supervised PhD and MSc candidates, delivered public lectures, and contributed to book chapters.
This work bridges the gap between research, clinical practice, and patient care, strengthening the role of osteopathy both internationally and here in Sweden, one of the few countries where osteopathy remains unregulated. By highlighting the professional value of osteopathy for researchers, clinicians, and patients alike, we aim to increase understanding of the need for formal regulation. We encourage all those interested in healthcare and research to follow the project’s progress, together, we can take the next steps forward for osteopathy.
The SOLAR programme is dedicated to building research leadership, capacity, and collaboration on a global scale.
By connecting research, clinical practice, and patient care, the SOLAR programme strengthens osteopathy’s impact both internationally and here in Sweden. This initiative is especially valuable in providing research that supports osteopaths, patients, and policymakers in their ongoing efforts to achieve formal professional recognition and regulation.
We invite everyone with an interest in healthcare and research to follow the project’s progress. Together, we can advance the future of osteopathy.
