Swedish Figure Skating Association 2019 ISU World Figure Skating Championship Selections

The Swedish Figure Skating Association is pleased to select Alexander Majorov and Anita Östlund as the athletes competing in the 2019 ISU World Figure Skating Championships.

Alexander Majorov is a 27 year old athlete, training and working in Luleå Sweden. He is trained by his parents Irina and Alexander Majorov Sr at the Luleå Skating Club. Alexander has had a very strong 2018-19 season, earning a silver medal at the Nebelhorn Trophy in Obersdorf Germany, which helped rank him 7th of 121 participants in the 2018 ISU Challenger Series. Alexander competed this season in the ISU Grand Prix series, first at Skate Canada, followed by the Rostelecom Cup in Russia. Alexander finished 8th at the 2019 ISU European Figure Skating Championships, held in Minsk, Belarus in January 2019.

Anita Östlund is a 17 year old training at the Landvetter Skating Club under the coaching of Andrea Dohany. Anita earned a silver medal at the 2018 Halloween Cup in Hungary and participated in the ISU Challenger Series this season, ranking 28th of the overall 149 worldwide competitors. Anita placed 18th at the 2019 European Figure Skating Championships held in Minsk, Belarus in January 2019.
