Gothenburg District Court approves the reconstruction plan for Swedemount Sportswear & Fashion AB
On Friday, the Gothenburg District Court approved the reconstruction plan for Swedemount Sportswear & Fashion AB. The majority of Swedemount's suppliers and creditor groups voted in favor of the plan.
- I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all our creditors, nearly all of whom have supported us throughout the reconstruction plan. We are eager to continue developing our partnerships moving forward. I also want to express a heartfelt thanks to all our employees who have been supportive of the reconstruction from the outset. Their complete dedication, positive attitude and determination have made this achievement possible, said Johan Andgren, CEO of the company.
- The financial challenges caused by the closure of our border shops with Norway during the pandemic have been addressed. The reconstruction has allowed us to implement significant improvements and cost-saving measures that ensure a sustainable business for the long term, continued Johan Andgren.
- From the beginning of this process, I have been hopeful and confident that Swedemount would successfully complete the reconstruction. I am grateful to all the stakeholders for their support during this period. Additionally, I want to extend a big thank you to all our employees who have diligently worked towards the company’s reconstruction said the company's chairman of the board, Ulf Bjerknes.
Lars Zetterberg, the company's official Administrator/Restructurer, expresses satisfaction with the reconstruction efforts and stating, "The purpose of a reconstruction procedure, as seen in this case, is to rescue companies with a fundamentally strong business from temporary setbacks."
The court's decision will become legally binding three weeks from today.

Swedemount Sportswear & Fashion AB startade i Grebbestad 1991 och har idag 21 butiker under namnet Sportshopen samt en butik under namnet Bazar.
Sportshopen tillhör idag en av de större enskilda aktörerna i Sverige av försäljning inom sport och fritid. Våra butiker finns primärt utmed västkusten och norska gränsen med en växande e-handel som även sträcker sig mot den europeiska marknaden.
Vårt sortiment består i huvudsak av kläder och skor från ledande märkesleverantörer, men vi utvecklar och tillverkar även plagg under våra egna varumärken – kläder som ska kunna användas av den aktiva familjen vid aktiviteter i alla klimat, året runt.
