Triumph for H&M-riders in the H&M Sweden Grand Prix, victory for Fredricson

The H&M Sweden Grand Prix at Sweden International Horse Show was dominated by the H&M-riders with Peder Fredricson and the Philippaerts twins securing all the three places on the prize podium.

Sunday’s Grand Prix is the jumping-highlight of Sweden International Horse Show and the crowds went wild as Sweden’s own Peder Fredricson secured the win with a fast clear round with H&M Christian K in the jump-off. Second place went to Olivier Philippaerts with H&M Miro and in third place we find Nicola Philippaerts with H&M Luna Van’T Ruytershof Z.

- We just got these new jackets and they seem to be working well. Everyone should have one, Peder jokes at the press conference where all three riders are wearing identical jackets.

Peder Fredricson - who in the last few years have won no less than two Olympic medals and a World Championship team gold medal - is of course a big favourite at Friends Arena. And the Swedish rider says the crowds at Sweden International Horse Show cheer him on louder than at other shows.

- It’s actually never like this anywhere else. I think Sweden is unique in that there is an incredible interest here… I really feel that support and it’s of course extra fun to be able to offer them a victory, says Peder, who didn’t think he would win as Christian K is not the fastest horse.
- But he is a real fighter, says Peder Fredricson.

The leading rider prize was won by Olivier Philippaerts, who was awarded a John Deere Gator HPX.
