SweTrack Introduces Cost-Effective Vehicle Tracking Device

Stockholm, Sweden, June 4th, 2018: Since being founded in 2013, the Swedish security firm SweTrack has been committed to providing the European market with intelligent solutions for GPS positioning of valuable goods, such as vehicles, cargo shipments and live animals. Today, SweTrack takes yet another step toward its vision of popularizing the use of such tracking devices by launching the all-new SweTrack Lite GPS Tracking Device.

The SweTrack Lite is a full-featured GPS tracking device which, after a brief installation procedure that involves connecting the device to the vehicle’s electrical wiring, allows the user to determine the vehicle’s geographical position using SweTrack’s mobile application. The device also supports various kinds of event notifications, meaning that the user can be notified should the vehicle begin to move and/or travel out of a geographically fenced area. All position data that is generated by the SweTrack Lite device is automatically recorded and saved on SweTrack’s servers, which allows the user to go back at any time to review the vehicle’s historical movements over a chosen period of time.

Since the device is about the size of a cigarette lighter, endless possibilities are offered for covert installation in the user’s vehicle.

The key strength of the product lies in its ease of use; no manual configuration is required by the user during setup – the setup procedure simply requires the user to connect the device to the vehicle’s electrical wiring using two simple power leads, after which the product will be ready for use. All that needs to be done in addition to that is downloading the SweTrack Live application and registering an account! SweTrack Lite transmits its data to the end user using the GSM mobile network, made possible by a tailor-made SIM card that is integrated with the chipset of the SweTrack Lite. The device operates on a “pay-as-you-go” basis, meaning that the user tops up the device with usage credit through a simple interface on SweTrack’s website. The monthly usage cost is set at just SEK 49 (incl. 25% VAT), and the user can cancel his subscription at any time. The data plan includes unlimited usage within the European Union as well as Norway and Switzerland, and the SIM card is carrier-free – which means that the device will automatically connect to the network providing the highest signal strength at the current location.
