Complete line-up to the last Volt festival

For the seventh and last year, Volt – the festival for electronic music – will take over Uppsala Concert Hall. A total of 21 artists will perform on five stages, merging innovative dance music, experimental pop and audiovisual performances from Uppsala, Sweden and the world.

Volt - the festival for electronic music

Volt 2015 will be the last edition of Volt. Since 2009, the festival has brought electronic pioneers and contemporary music innovators to Uppsala and Sweden. Now it’s time to give place to new expressions at the concert hall.

– It’s time for us to move to the next chapter. The past seven years have been amazing, building a spot for the most exciting electronic music. But now we want to give room for new experiments and platforms for musical innovation at the concert hall, says Patric Kiraly for the concert management of Uppsala Konsert & Kongress.

During the years, Volt’s works in gender-conscious bookings have made waves internationally. Volt 2013 was named the world's (!) most equal festival in DJ-network Female:Pressure's examination of the number of female artists booked to music festivals. Of all artists performing at Volt 2013, 39% were women. Since then the numbers have raised.

At Volt 2015, close to 60% of the programme is non-male: 12 live performers, sound artists and DJ’s active along the whole axis of what has come to constitute Volt. Uppsala’s Klara Lewis and Anna-Karin Brus merges soundscapes, noises and visual arts alongside the vivid sounds of Stockholm pop-dance-experimentalists Quiltland and Kablam. Xosar and Cio D’Or brings their unique energies to the dancefloor while Dasha Rush and Gazelle Twin dazzles their live audiences.

– The Volt 2015 programme is both our strongest ever and the most conceptually complete. It will be the perfect final, says Patric Kiraly.
