Linkin Park med banbrytande spelapplikation

Linkin Park bekräftade nyligen att de snart släpper sin omtalade, nyskapande spelapplikation, “LINKIN PARK 8-BIT REBELLION!” , en banbrytande applikation för iPhone, iPod Touch och iPad.

Produktionen av “LINKIN PARK 8-BIT REBELLION!” satte igång för över ett år sedan, när Linkin Park (vokalisterna Mike Shinoda och Chester Bennington, trummisen Rob Bourdon, gitarristen Brad Delson, DJ Joe Hahn och basisten Dave "Phoenix" Farrell) slog sig samman med spelutvecklarna Artificial Life, Inc. (NASDAQ OTCBB: ALIF) för att skapa en applikationsupplevelse för både musikintresserade och spelare. Resultatet är den första multi-playerapplikationen som är designad runt en musikartist. Bandet (som ses som karaktärer i spelet) var intimt involverat i varje aspekt av spelets tillblivande: berättelsen, designen, spelfunktioner och musiken.

“LINKIN PARK 8-BIT REBELLION!” fungerar till skillnad från övriga spel som ett fullskaligt action-äventyrsspel. Spelarna måste befria Linkin Parks idylliska 8-bitars Värld från den ondskefulle PixxelKorp och hans undersåtar, som har stulit bandets musik. Som medlemmar i motståndsrörelsen kommer spelarna att anta olika utmaningar som leder dem genom olika distrikt i spelet – varje distrikt har tema från de olika bandmedlemmarna. Under de olika uppdragen kommer de att slåss mot PixxelKorps trupper, leta fram försvunna sånger och bli en 8-bitars hjälte! Bland de flera höjdpunkterna i spelet kommer applikationen att innehålla ”Blackbirds”, en exklusiv Linkin Park-låt som låses upp när spelaren fullföljt spelet. Detta är första gången någonsin som en artist släppt en helt ny låt via en mobil spelapplikation.

Mike Shinoda säger att “we really liked the song and thought this would be a unique way to give it to our fans.”

Spelet innehåller några av Linkin Parks största hits: “New Divide,” “One Step Closer,” “In The End,” “Crawling,” “QWERTY,” “Hands Held High,” “Faint,” och “No More Sorrow.” Detta är första gången som Linkin Parks musik har blivit omgjord med gammaldags spelljud. Spelet, som även innehåller illustrationer av bandet, öppnar med ”One Step Closer” som låter som att den kommit direkt från det första Nintendot.

“LINKIN PARK 8-BIT REBELLION!” ger spelarna möjlighet att skapa och klä avatarer genom att välja från hundratalet olika kombinationer. Applikationens onlineintegration möjliggör en unik spelupplevelse, där spelarna kan sätta iväg på sin egen resa medan man möter och chattar med vänner. I communityt finner man IM chats, in-app messaging, anslagstavlor, poängsättning av andra spelare och skänkning av gåvor. Spelet har även en offline mode där spelarna ändå kan avsluta sina uppdrag och köpa nya saker i affärer. Användare med stabil internetuppkoppling kan  spela spelet var de än är. Enkelt sagt är “LINKIN PARK 8-BIT REBELLION!” den enda applikationen hittills som integrerar spel, social nätverkan och nyhetsuppdatering samtidigt.
