Voice Message: New Whistlelink feature for whistleblower reports

We are excited to introduce a brand-new feature for Whistlelink’s all-in-one whistleblowing system – the possibility to record voice messages when submitting a whistleblower report through your whistleblowing website.

Why is Whistlelink launching Voice Message?

The EU Whistleblowing Directive requires all employers included by the law, to implement secure reporting channels. These channels must allow for written and/or oral reports. Additionally, the organisation must also arrange a face-to-face meeting at the whistleblower’s request. With member states now transposing the EU Directive into national legislation, we are seeing different interpretations and implementations. In most countries, however, these will be the mandatory requirements.

The Whistleblower Directive does not specify how the reporting channels should be designed or implemented. This will be up to each organisation, as long as the procedure meets the requirements of the law. Historically, outsourced hotlines and call centers have been popular, but today more and more organisations are moving away from them as they are a rather expensive solution.

Using voice messages for whistleblowing can be a convenient and effective way for whistleblowers to report misconduct, as it allows them to provide information and evidence through spoken communication. This can be particularly useful if the whistleblower is not comfortable writing or unable to do so for any reason.

Tell us more, what is Whistlelink’s Voice Message?

To understand the details surrounding this new feature, we have met with Annelie Demred, VP of Strategy and Growth at Whistlelink.

Voice Message is a new feature that will allow an individual to report orally, by recording a voice message. The feature will be available on the reporting page for all clients who choose to enable it.

– Annelie

How will it work?

Voice Message will be an optional feature, meaning that our clients can choose if they want this to be enabled or not. You can easily enable Voice Messages from the Settings menu in the whistleblowing system.

– Annelie

Once enabled, a new icon will appear on the report form. The reporting person will then be able to choose if they want to report by recording an audio message, or through the standard questionnaire. The duration of the voice recording can be up to 10 minutes long and it will create a new case in the case management module. Here, the whistleblower can also listen to their recording.

So, when will Whistlelink launch Voice Message?

We are already rolling out this feature for all clients who wish to implement it. If you are interested, please get in touch!

– Annelie

Whistlelink’s aim and ambition is to provide our clients with easy-to-use solutions at an affordable cost. With our system, we also want to ensure that all legal obligations are met. Voice Message is a perfect addition to our whistleblowing platform, that will make our client’s lives much easier!

If you have questions about the new Voice Message feature, please contact Annelie Demred or book a free demo of our whistleblowing system!
