PRIZE CUBES 2024
The WIN WIN Award Prize Cubes has the basic shape of a cube, but each year it is made of different sustainable materials. For 2024, the Prize Cubes are founded on the theme of inclusive transition and the complex relationship between humans and the natural environment.
This year's cube is made from two distinct materials. One part is a sand composite where many small units – tiny grains of sand – in various shapes and colours, have come together to form a stable structure. The process much resembles the one of labour unions, where individuals unite to gain collective strength that profit the whole.
The other part, composed of seaweed, pine needles, and lichen, showcases the immense beauty, complexity, and diversity of nature. Yet, our shared natural environment faces significant challenges, with the environmental movement serving as a powerful force in keeping us on the right path.
At the meeting point between the two sides, one can observe how the parts begin to flow in and out of each other. An interplay that creates a whole. In a larger perspective, this interplay and exchange form the basis for collectively being able to create cross-border agreements, benefiting both people and nature, just like this year's winner of WIN WIN Award and WIN WIN Youth Award.
