A journey from the front desk to Finance Manager in one of Sweden’s fastest growing companies

WorkShop The Consumer Experience Agency is appointing Sara Reutland as Finance Manager after 6 years with the company. Sara joined WorkShop in the role of Receptionist and Office Manager and is now part of the management team as Finance Manager. WorkShop’s mission is to be a career platform for talents and this is one of many examples of internal succession.

Payman Hazheer, CEO at WorkShop, is passionate about the mission to be a career platform and has himself worked his way up from making sales out in stores to the position as CEO. About Sara’s journey he says; “The first month of me joining WorkShop as COO I had to recruit a new receptionist and had made up my mind about a candidate, but there was this stubborn young woman who talked herself into a last call interview, and I was very impressed by her positive attitude and her promise that she won´t make us disappointed even though she lacked experience”. Payman continues; “Sara is obviously very talented, but there is more to that. Starting in the reception and working her way up she knows everything there is to know about our operations but also our services and clients, so she can bring a holistic perspective into all discussions, which from my experience is very unique.”

Sara Reutland says; “I am so excited and proud to be appointed Finance Manager at Workshop! I was lucky enough to start my career at a company that truly lives its mission, to be a career platform. Just a few months in to my employment as Receptionist an opportunity within Fleet and IT opened up. I asked Payman to let me take on the job on top of my current tasks and when he came back with a yes I knew I was at the right company! It has been a commitment from both my side and WorkShop, I think, for me to be able come this far in my career. I have always wanted to do more, learn more, to be involved and challenged, and in return I have gotten responsibilities and trust.”

WorkShop was recognized as one of Sweden’s Best Managed Companies 2019 by Deloitte and Nasdaq, through an evaluation process in which, among other factors, internal succession strategies was considered.
