Zilenzio presents Dezibel Art – acoustic panels dressed in art from Paper Collective

A new collaboration brings together the power of first-class acoustics and the bold beauty of contemporary art. Dezibel Art by Zilenzio and Paper Collective turns ordinary walls into spaces you want to linger in – where design, wellbeing, and creativity meet.

For more than two decades, Zilenzio has created acoustic solutions that shape the atmosphere of workplaces, schools, hotels, and restaurants around the world. At the same time, Paper Collective, founded in Copenhagen in 2013, has been curating a vibrant collection of contemporary art, connecting artists and designers with those who value visual storytelling.

Now, the two Nordic brands join forces to launch Dezibel Art – acoustic panels that are as visually striking as they are functional. The collaboration blurs the line between sound and sight, offering a new way to experience space: where art is not just seen, but also felt.

”We’ve actually been discussing a collaboration for several years,” says Hans Bergström, CEO of Zilenzio. ”Design has been part of our DNA since day one, and Paper Collective is all about design. It feels natural to combine our functional expertise with their artistic strength.”

A natural fit between design and acoustics

Both brands share a clear design philosophy rooted in quality, creativity and a deep understanding of how spaces affect people.

”There’s a great synergy between the technical abilities of the Zilenzio range and the visual strength of our curated art,” explains Morten Kaaber, CEO and Founder of Paper Collective. ”In our own way, both companies aim to improve living and working environments – one through function, the other through beauty.”

Each acoustic panel is printed with art chosen from Paper Collective’s extensive catalogue – a collection spanning painted works, minimalist designs, photography, and graphic expressions. The result is a range that fits seamlessly into offices, restaurants, hotels, schools or homes.

“We wanted to create rooms that people actually want to stay in,” Hans Bergström explains. “With Dezibel Art, it’s more than just a picture on the wall. It’s about creating a sense of calm and inspiration through both sight and acoustics.”

Behind the elegant surface lies meticulous technical development. Achieving high acoustic performance while maintaining the integrity of the artwork required both precision and collaboration.

“We had to find the perfect balance,” says Daniel Helldén, Customer Project Manager at Zilenzio. “An effective sound absorber needs a certain thickness, while art prints are usually thin. I’m really happy with how we’ve combined the two – it’s truly the best of both worlds.”

Promoting creativity and wellbeing

For Paper Collective, the partnership also opens a new dimension to what art can be and do.

“We’ve always worked at the intersection of art and design,” says Morten Kaaber. “With Dezibel Art, we can bring that vision to life – artworks that not only tell a personal story but also improve the human experience of a space. Research shows that art can boost creativity and reduce stress, and when you add better acoustics, the effect is even greater.”

Both brands see this as just the beginning of a long-term relationship.

”We always aim for long-term partnerships,” says Hans Bergström. ”You can’t be the best at everything, so finding great collaborations with people who are the best in their field is key to success.”

Morten Kaaber agrees:

”This is hopefully just the start. We see huge potential to create more products that blur the boundaries between art and function.”

With Dezibel Art, Zilenzio and Paper Collective invite us to experience spaces differently – where silence becomes visible, and art becomes something you can feel.
