Reliefed Technologies receives 2.9 million from the Swedish Energy Agency

The Swedish Energy Agency has granted funding of up to SEK 2.9 million to Reliefed Technologies for projects aiming at promoting commercialization in new industrial segments of the company's patented 3D technology - 3D-iExtrusion® for energy-efficient production and products.

Reliefed Technologies and the company's patented 3D-iExtrusion® technology enables new design and product development solutions as well as cost and energy efficient 3D mass production for products and applications. The ability to develop energy-optimized 3D components while reducing energy and material usage in the production process are parameters that have made the Energy Agency grant support to Reliefed.

The funding of SEK 2.9 million will be used, inter alia, in projects for development, simulation, production and testing of components for energy efficiency of facade and windows systems, opening for a very large global market in both cold and hot climate, as well as to demonstrate material savings and energy savings in production using 3D-iExtrusion® in relation to conventional manufacturing methods.

"Our customers and the market are looking for new ways and solutions to meet design freedom requirements as well as cost- and energy-efficient mass production. The support from the Swedish Energy Agency enables us to further detect and verify these capabilities and values provided by our 3D technology, not the least from a productivity and energy perspective, "says Mikael Eklund, CEO of Reliefed.

With 3D-iExtrusion®, production steps such as post-processing are eliminated resulting in a reduction of energy usage by 20-75 percent, which in turn also leads up to an elimination of material waste and logistics steps that contribute to high energy saving in many steps. 3D-iExtrusion® is about 50,000 times faster than 3D printing in rubber and is at the same time 50-70 percent more energy-efficient than injection molding.

"It is a company with great potential and a clear packaged value offering that can contribute to the conversion of the energy system. The company's innovative solution contributes to energy efficiency, but also to reduced costs and material purchases," says Anneli Eriksson, Head of Department at the Energy Agency.
