Meeting the Market – Sentient's Software in Trucks Delivered to Customers

The first trucks with Sentient’s software for electric power steering control are being delivered to customers worldwide this month. International truck journalists recently had the opportunity to drive the new models, where the new steering system has been presented as the “most important news since power steering”.

The performance software S⁺ Premium Steering was developed by Sentient, a Gothenburg-based innovation company. The system improves course stability and suppresses road disturbances, thus creating a completely new steering experience.

“Close to perfect” says a Dutch truck journalist.

The commercial presentation of the new trucks focuses on the new steering experience. Even while driving on challenging roads, the fully loaded vehicles are so easy to handle and low speed manoeuvring requires no more than the strength of a finger.

“That certainly is the first thing you will notice”, says Per Adolfsson, co-operative director of Sentient“.  As a consequence, the risks of wear and tear injuries are significantly reduced.”

S⁺ Premium Steering is based on Sentient’s patented Driver Torque Principle and produces an enhanced driving experience for the drivers and contributes to a safer road environment. The Driver Torque Principle is also the platform for the development of additional safety functions to come.
