Novotel Singapore Clarke Quay Clinches Singapore Environmental Achievement Award

Novotel Clarke Quay has won an award in the services category of the Singapore Environmental Achievement Awards (SEAA) organised by the Singapore Environment Council (SEC). As the only hotel recognised in the category, the Novotel was selected for its strong commitment to the environment through a range of initiatives including waste management, energy efficiency and performance.

As part of Accor’s Planet 21 program, the Novotel has saved almost $17,000 from its reusable towel initiative and recycled more than 150kg of soap which is being used to promote good health to those in need.

Mr Kevin Bossino, General Manager, Novotel Singapore Clarke Quay said, “With PLANET 21, Accor is making sustainable hospitality the focus of its strategic vision, as well as its development and innovation processes. Winning this award affirms the hotel’s commitment in sustainable development.”

Planet 21 is structured around 21 commitments backed by quantifiable objectives that all hotels must meet including innovative programs to inform and encourage guests to get involved.

Planet 21 is at the center of Accor’s DNA and the hotel group is committed to reducing its environmental impact, contributing to the communities in which it operates and offering staff a range of wellness and education programs.

The Singapore Environment Council introduced the awards to raise environmental awareness among local industries and Novotel joins an elite group of companies who are making a difference with their sustainability programs.
