VINCENT LELAY APPOINTED CLUSTER GENERAL MANAGER OF THE SINGAPORE RESORT & SPA SENTOSA AND SOFITEL SO SINGAPORE

Singapore, August 21, 2014 – Vincent Lelay has been appointed as the Cluster General Manager for The Singapore Resort & Spa Sentosa, Managed by Accor, and Sofitel So Singapore. With a career at Accor that spans over 23 years, Lelay brings to both properties a wealth of international hotel management experiences.

Prior to this appointment, Lelay was the Project Liaison Manager at The Singapore Resort & Spa Sentosa, where he managed the upcoming refurbishment of the hotel in  preparation for the rebranding exercise into a Sofitel hotel in 2015. He has also held several senior management roles including Vice President of Hotel Operations for Greater China where he supervised and operated more than 50 hotel projects from development phase to operations. During this time, he developed a strong appreciation and a deep understanding of the Asian culture. As General Manager, Lelay was instrumental in the successful rebranding of the Grand Mercure Roxy Hotel and Novotel Clarke Quay in Singapore.

Before his successful venture in Singapore, Lelay spent eight years in Indonesia as the Regional General Manager of Operations for Accor in Yogyakarta and Central Java and managed numerous hotels in Asia and Europe for the group.

On his new role, Lelay said, "I feel extremely privileged to be given this opportunity to spearhead the fantastic resort on Sentosa that has so much potential as well as the world’s third Sofitel So label hotel. I very much look forward to working with both teams and taking the two properties to greater heights."

As the Cluster General Manager of two distinctively different properties, Lelay will assume the responsibility of managing The Singapore Resort & Spa Sentosa, a 215-room resort which includes four Villas du Jardin as well as eight versatile meetings and events spaces. The resort will undergo extensive refurbishment in the upcoming months and will eventually be rebranded to a Sofitel Hotel in 2015.

Lelay will also continue to grow the boutique hotel’s business at Sofitel So Singapore which offers
134 rooms including nine suites with surprise elements designed by the legendary Karl Lagerfeld, blending French decadence and sophistication with Singapore’s modernity set in an iconic heritage building in the bustling business district.

Born in France, Lelay was educated in Strasbourg and Paris, and has attended the GM’s Program in Cornell University. He is married with a daughter and is fluent in French, English and some Spanish and Mandarin.
