Asia PR Werkz supports Runninghour 2016 and the Pro Bono Services Office of the Law Society of Singapore

Asia PR Werkz supports Runninghour 2016 and the Pro Bono Services Office of the Law Society of Singapore as part of the agency's corporate social responsibility programme where the agency offers selected charities their services at a nominal fee.

Asia PR Werkz will be supporting Runninghour 2016 to strategize publicity plans for its run this year. The agency will handle all public relations and media relations matters on behalf of the organization, aiming to create more awareness of Runninghour’s mission of promoting the well-being and integration of people with special needs through sports. Leading the account is Ms Julie Chiang, Director with Asia PR Werkz.

Runninghour was founded in April 2009 by John and Jan See Toh and a group of volunteers as an interest group. In May 2014, the group registered themselves as a Co-operative with the aim of providing a platform for mildly-intellectually challenged youth to integrate through sports. The club also expanded to include visually challenged runners. Besides organising inclusive running events, the Runninghour also holds regular sports activities such as weekly runs, tandem biking and dragon boating. Since its inception, Runninghour has provided many opportunities for persons with special needs to interact and bond with their peers, ordinary youth and adults, thereby enlarging their social networks.

Asia PR Werkz also entered into a one year commitment to support the Pro Bono Services Office of the Law Society of Singapore. The Pro Bono Services Office is a Charity and approved Institution of Public Character. They were established in 2007 with the mission to help bring free legal assistance to those in need in our community, as part of the Law Society's stated mission – to ensure access to justice for all. The law is a mystery to the many people; it has procedures and jargon which are often confusing and even intimidating. Many people do not have access to a lawyer, either because of money or an ingrained social resistance to seeing one. As a result, they ask for informal advice from friends, and, in the process often receive inaccurate information with no way of verifying it. Every year, the Pro Bono Services Office's pro bono programmes provide accurate and relevant legal help to thousands who need it but cannot otherwise afford to access it. Asia PR Werkz will be providing strategic counsel and media relations services to the Charity for a one year period. The account is led by Ms Cho Pei Lin, Managing Director of Asia PR Werkz.
