Arthur Choo: Featured on Gen Z Magazine

Connected by a shared passion to engage the youths, Gen Z Magazine reached out to Arthur, the Founder of Green Drumming and BEAT’ABOX for an exclusive interview and article feature.

This article covers many aspects of his life as an entrepreneur. He was introduced as an “ideal person to feature” and a “media personality in Singapore”. Having photos of him taken in his warehouse at Yishun sporting a matching bright orange jacket and track pants, he delved right into how he began his journey.

He recalled how he started his career at the young age of 18, starting with an automobile company and unfortunately failed. This led to him bouncing back with tenacity and starting BEAT’ABOX instead, Singapore’s leading Cajon enterprise through sheer passion. BEAT’ABOX had increasing popularity and has engaged more than 30,000 participants through different festivals such as BOX’OUT - which made it to the Singapore Book of Records. BEAT’ABOX has also been covered on notable media outlets such as The Straits Times and Channel News Asia.

He also talked about Green Drumming, another initiative sparked from the success of BEAT’ABOX which has a goal of creating a sustainable art scene by making music using recycled material or household items. This is, in fact, the leading recycled percussion group in Singapore! Arthur believes that nothing is wasted in life, both opportunities and materials - and wants to give everything a second chance.

In addition, he talked about his upcoming book, Dare to Fail where he shares the different highs and lows of his journey to success. The book showcases the real side of every entrepreneur’s path, different from “books that talk about success and not how much they fail”.
