Kicking off a new Somerset with Green Arena!
Flea markets, pop up events, dancers training along the glass panels of SCAPE - Somerset is a vibrant space that gathers youths from all walks of life.
As part of Somerset Belt Masterplan by the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth (MCCY), Green Drumming by BEAT'ABOX is one of the selected vendors to spearhead innovative ideas for the next generation of youths. A leading recycled percussion group in Singapore since 2019, Green Drumming by BEAT'ABOX specializes in making rhythm out of everyday items and creating inclusive music experiences for the youth communities.
While Covid-19 has restricted platforms for Singaporeans to experience the arts in a physical space for the past few months, this initiative enabled them to reconnect with the arts and support local aspiring artists through a digital medium.
In this pilot phase of collaboration with Somerset Belt, Green Drumming by BEAT'ABOX will be presenting a series of refreshing digital music experiences for the audience in the form of a monthly music video and livestream performance from January through March 2021. Each music video and livestream performance will showcase the beautiful harmony of green drumming and other music instruments featuring a stellar lineup of local guest artists.
The first music video and livestream performance will be launched around the end of January 2021. More details about the lineup will be released over the next few weeks.
