Epson launches next-generation industrial labelling solution

Singapore, 16 June 2016 – Epson, a leader in digital imaging and printing solutions, announces the launch of its next-generation industrial labelling solution, the award-winning Epson LabelWorks LW-Z900FK, for printing of labels for industrial use from network cabling for identification purposes, to warehouse and fieldwork usage and others. An industry first, the LW-Z900FK offers the option for mix-length printing, giving users the convenience of creating variable lengths of labels in a single batch for ease-of-use.

The rugged LW-Z900FK is designed for tough industrial environments and comes with magnetic mount capability for hands-free use. The Epson labels are able to withstand exposure to heat and cold, as well as wet conditions. The fully tested labels stick fast to most surfaces including curved surfaces, glass and stainless steel.

Its distinctive multi-faceted styling makes it easy to hold with either one hand or both, and the red body stands out even in dark environments. With a large handle, the shock- and scratch-durable elastomer material ensures drop impact resistance.

Designed for maximum productivity and ease-of-use, the LW-Z900FK prints at a fast print speed of 35mm/sec for quick turnaround with options to pick labels as it prints or to print continuously – Smart features include the Drop-Stop feature that holds on to a label to prevent it from falling off after it is cut, the Pick-and-Print feature that automatically pauses for the user to pick the printed label and resumes when it is removed, and the intuitive half-cut for easy peeling of the label.

The PC-compatible LW-Z900FK prints at a sharp resolution of 360dpi for high quality labels, and it is compatible with die-cut labels. Tape cartridges will be loaded from the front which enables users to preview before printing. Tape-saving features include a reduced lead margin of 4mm and the auto tape rewind function that retracts excess tape for maximised cost savings, for a lower total cost of ownership.

The ergonomically-designed LW-Z900FK offers a variety of convenient short-cut keys for easily configurable label printouts such as wire wrap, punch block, patch panel, cable flag and more. With the bundled Epson Label Editor software, users can choose from over 70 pre-installed templates to create custom labels, as well as import barcodes and images for printing.

Epson offers high quality labels in a diverse range of style, size and colours to create application-specific labels for every need. Tape widths range up to 36mm in standard and metallic colours. Depending on the need, Epson offers different types of tapes such as cable wraps, die cut, magnetic and heat shrink tubes.

“We have developed a tough label printer that fits the most demanding environment, designed with functionality and ease of use in mind. Waterproof, humidity-resistant and scratch-resistant, the LW-Z900FK delivers at astounding speeds and aims to bring productivity to new levels,” said Ms. Tan May Lin, Epson Singapore’s General Manager (Sales, Marketing & Customer Service Division).

The innovative design of the LW-Z900FK has won it recognition at the prestigious iF Design Awards 2016 in Munich. The award evaluation criteria included design quality, workmanship, choice of materials, degree of innovation, environmental attributes, functionality, ergonomics, safety, brand value and universal design.

The LW-Z900FK is available for sale now and retails at S$598 with 1 year (carry-in) warranty. Please contact Epson distributors - C2O Corporation Pte Ltd and Swift-Value Business Pte Ltd, for more details.
