A New Type of Flooring for Commercial Offices?

Some commercial office interior designers in Singapore have started using high end resilient flooring for their clients. Because most business owners in Asia usually rent office spaces from building management for an average period of about 3 to 7 years per location, hence office flooring is usually carpeted. Expensive wood flooring is not considered at all either because of its high material cost. Both carpet and wood flooring are "susceptible" to water damage, hence cleaning and maintenance needed to be done regularly. Long term operational costs will therefore increase gradually as a result.

High end resilient flooring solves much of the common issues for commercial flooring.

Here are its benefits for office flooring:

1) Waterproof

Too much water can damage the fabrics of carpet tiles as well as causing wood or laminate flooring to swell. On the other hand, without thorough cleaning of carpets, dusts and dirt might be trapped in the fabrics. Hence, office carpets need to be vacuumed thoroughly with a special kind of vacuum cleaner for at least twice a week so that the office will have a clean and healthy working environment. This will incur high maintenance costs in terms of operations within the office such as hiring a cleaning company to do the job.

High end resilient flooring, on the other hand, is very easy to maintain. Heavy duty washing is ok as it is 100% waterproof.

2) Can Move it When You Move Office

Unlike carpets, laminate or wooden flooring, the business owner can move his existing high end resilient flooring many times to his new office location. This will save a lot of capital for the business savvy corporate leaders in terms of high office set-up costs when one moves offices and their time in sourcing the flooring materials for the new location. Hence, the huge savings on using existing high end resilient flooring can be diverted into other resources and campaigns that will bring in potential profits for the business owners.

3) A Real Wood Luxury?

Wood, naturally makes one property looks luxurious and credible. The business owners, when they invite their customers into their offices, their customers might feel a relatively deeper sense of trust for the business owner. However, wood is an very expensive product and it is not viable to install in a rented office property.

High end resilient flooring looks very much like real wood. Some of its surfaces are embossed with wood grains for a "real wood" touch.

4) Durable Material

High end resilient flooring is a very durable and strong flooring material. It can withstand heavy weight,  2 times higher than laminate flooring and much higher than carpets, when stepped on. Installing it along the passageway, entrances, reception area and pantry area are highly suitable.

The "face" of office commercial interior design is changing consistently today. In terms of flooring, business owners will have one more option which is high end resilient flooring on top of carpets, laminate or wooden flooring.
