High End Resilient Flooring VS Luxury Resilient Flooring
Many might wonder is there any difference between High End Resilient Flooring (HERF) and Luxury Resilient Flooring (or commonly known as luxury vinyl tiles ), both are resilient flooring but in fact both of these two flooring belong to different categories due to its product specification.
Both HERF and LRF are waterproof but overall, HERF has a relatively higher specification than LRF. HERF has a thickness layer of 5mm and wear layer of 0.5mm that makes it relatively more stable than normal LRF or LVT. LRF has a slightly thinner layer of 4mm to 4.5mm and wear layer of 0.3mm.
One way to detect the difference between high end resilient flooring (HERF) and luxury resilient flooring (LRF) is to bring it close to the nose. HERF is odourless while LVT or LRF has a soapy or plastic scent. This is probably due to the chemical compound in the LVT or LRF.
In terms of performance, the feel of HERF and LRF is slightly different as well. HERF is relatively more stable and firm, whilst LRF might be a little flimsy.
Good quality high end resilient flooring (HERF) comes with credible flooring standards in terms of health and safety. Look for credible certification such as Floor Score, DiBt mark as well as other standard to show that the flooring is of good health standards.
By having a deeper understanding in the properties of high end resilient flooring (HERF) and luxury resilient flooring (LRF), home owners therefore choose and make decision better in terms of finding a good quality resilient flooring for the home.
