Ministry Of Defence (MINDEF): Royal Thai Army Chief calls on DPM Teo

The Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Army General (GEN) Prayut Chan-O-Cha called on Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defence Teo Chee Hean at the Ministry of Defence this morning. GEN Prayut is in Singapore from 1 to 3 Mar 2011 for his introductory visit.

GEN Prayut's visit underscores the close and long-standing defence ties between Singapore and Thailand. The Singapore Armed Forces and the Royal Thai Armed Forces interact regularly through exercises, visits, courses and other professional exchanges. Such interactions are mutually beneficial and have strengthened the professionalism and camaraderie between the officers and men of the two armies.

As part of his visit, GEN Prayut also called on Chief of Army Major-General (MG) Chan Chun Sing and officiated at the closing ceremony of Exercise Kocha Singa, an annual bilateral exercise between both armies, together with MG Chan at the Murai Urban Training Facility earlier today. GEN Prayut will also be visiting the Motorised Infantry Training Institute at Kranji Camp this afternoon.
