Welcome a New Language of Partnership

Welcome a New Language of Partnership, read the invitation to the opening ceremony of Jebsen & Jessen Cambodia Ltd. No sooner said than done, the Group truly embraced Cambodia in a bountiful opening event held on Feb 24 in Phnom Penh.

Jebsen & Jessen Cambodia was established late last year and since then, things have progressed swiftly. The newest entity of our Group has found a home in Phnom Penh’s Delano Centre and currently comprises two staff, General Manager Mr Alfons Mensdorff-Pouilly and Senior Sales Manager Kethya Chealy. Numerous business contacts across the kingdom have been established, opportunities identified and the first products were sold.

The splendid opening ceremony in February definitely played its part in further facilitating business for our Group. Jebsen & Jessen Cambodia invited their guests to a reception and dance performance by the Children of Bassac, a group of children and teenagers performing traditional Cambodian folk dances and songs. The event was held in the charming gardens of Phnom Penh’s National Museum, a perfect setting for the guests to meet and mingle before and after the show.

“The combination of officially opening our operations in Cambodia and simultaneously supporting the Children of Bassac, part of an organisation that supports the revival of traditional Khmer arts and culture, is fully in line with our philosophy and values,” said Mr Alfons Mensdorff-Pouilly. “The event formed a perfect platform for our Group to enter the Cambodian market and communicate not only our business value proposition, but also who we are and what our Group stands for.”

Over 150 people had come from local and international corporations, governmental institutions, banks and embassies to welcome Jebsen & Jessen to Cambodia. They arrived around 6.30pm and socialised in the gardens of the museum. After a short speech by Alfons Mensdorff-Pouilly, people took their seats and enjoyed the traditional dance performance. For 30min the children mesmerised the audience with beautiful songs, dances and tales.

The big opening act, however, followed right after the show. Representing the Executive Board, Executive Vice Chairman Mr Schulenburg, came up the stage to give a short speech. “Today we enter the Cambodian market to seek business and business partners in this country. We believe in Cambodia’s future growth and economic potential and we are here to stay,” so Mr Schulenburg’s message.

After his speech, he invited the guest of honour, H.E. Sok Chenda, Minister attached to Prime Minister - Secretary General of the Cambodian Development Council, to come up the stage and together, they cut a ribbon to officially open business operations - a symbolic act that was greeted with applause and a toast by all guests.

“Cambodia offers plenty of opportunities for our Group,” says Alfons Mensdorff-Pouilly, “and I look forward to realising them. We had a great opening ceremony and business is picking up, now it’s about hiring the right people and we are set to go!”
