Kimberly-Clark China Breaks Ground for Diaper Mill in Tianjin

Kimberly-Clark China recently held a groundbreaking ceremony for its new diaper manufacturing facility in Tianjin, reinforcing its commitment to long-term development in China. The world-class facility will produce Huggies, the leading diaper brand in China’s premium market since its entry into China in 1997.

Covering an area of over 300,000 square meters, the state of the art Tianjin mill will feature a fully-automated production line to ensure efficiency. In accordance with Kimberly-Clark’s sustainability strategy, the mill is designed according to LEED standards (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design), established by the U.S. Department of Energy and Green Building Association.

With its strategic location in the Tianjin Airport Economic Area, the new mill will help to meet the growing demand for quality products in the Chinese market and deliver world-class products to more Chinese infants and their parents.

Operating in China since 1994, Kimberly-Clark now has four manufacturing facilities in Beijing, Nanjing and Shanghai that produce several of the company’s well-known brands such as Kotex, Huggies, Kleenex, and Depend. Kimberly-Clark prides itself on being a responsible corporate citizen, regularly contributing to environmental protection and social welfare projects. The consumer products company has been recognized for its product and technology innovations, quality management and environmental stewardship in China in the past decade.
