Last chance: Crime and Punishment with Josephus Tan

Crime & Punishment: A Cautionary Tale about Singaporean Criminal Law

We warmly invite you to a lunch seminar on Thursday 8 November at Nordea’s office about “Crime & Punishment: A Cautionary Tale about Singaporean Criminal Law” by renowned lawyer Mr. Josephus Tan.

Singapore is a peaceful place where people are expected to behave and follow the laws. You might even question if Singapore has any crime at all due to the safe environment. An act that is deemed innocent in Europe and elsewhere in the world can be highly illegal with huge consequences in Singapore. During his presentation, famous Singaporean lawyer Josephus Tan, will teach us about Singapore’s dark side. He will show us what happens when someone crosses the Singaporean boundaries and explain the extremely strict Singaporean laws and the severe sanctions when someone is caught.

Josephus Tan is the Managing Director of Invictus Law Corporation which he founded in 2017. Josephus specialises in criminal defence work, and has experience representing clients in all levels of the Singapore courts, including the Military Courts. Josephus obtained his LL.B. (Hons) at the University of Southampton.

Come and join us for this rare opportunity to learn more about the fascinating and unique Singaporean criminal law system and the sanctions that are imposed when a crime is committed.
