Bushiroad celebrates a decade of trading cards, cosplay and anime at CharaExpo 2017

The third edition of CharaExpo returns this year with an exciting line-up of stars and artists, following the tremendous success of last year’s show with a record turnout of 19,000 attendees. Held on the 9th and 10th of September 2017, this year’s expo will be at Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre, where fans of anime, games and cosplay get up-close and personal with their favourite stars and musical talents. Bushiroad will also be celebrating its 10th anniversary; featuring their various card game tournaments and animes. CharaExpo 2017 will consist of three main components; the Trading Card Game arena, Exhibitions and the Main Stage.

Bushiroad Inc’s President and Chief Executive Officer, Takaaki Kidani elaborates on what’s new in this year’s show, “To commemorate our 10th anniversary, this year we are introducing our first ever online animation course by ParentheXis at the expo, where budding anime artists can be certified in Japanese Animation. This will be the third CharaExpo in Singapore, and we want to bring the essence of Japanese sub-cultures to fans in Asia; to give them the opportunity to meet and interact with the content creators behind their favourite animes and manga.”

Card Game Tournaments are a major component of CharaExpo, and this year’s expo will host two exciting championships. The Singapore leg of the Bushiroad Championship Series 2017 Autumn Circuit will be held at CharaExpo 2017. Winners of the Cardfight!! Vanguard and Future Card Buddyfight tournaments will get the opportunity to compete in the World Finals, taking place in Tokyo, Japan early next year. Bushiroad’s new fantasy trading card game, Dragoborne, will also be hosting an Asian Championship at the event, where fans can expect a special guest appearance by Women’s Atomweight World Champion, Angela Lee, who is the ambassador for the Dragoborne Asia Championship 2017.

The line-up for this year’s CharaExpo will feature new content and their respective artists, including Planetarian, Little Busters! And Kemono Friends, an anime influenced by animals from the Singapore Zoo. Also new to CharaExpo 2017 is Poppin’ Party, the all-girl band from popular anime series Bang! Dream. Fan favourites returning to the show are guest artists such as Sora Tokui; voice actress of Yuzurizaki Nero in Detective Opera Milky Holmes, Izumi Kitta; voice actress of Misaki Tokura in Cardfight!! Vanguard and Emi Nitta; voice actress and singer from Japan.
