Popsical Remix Takes Karaoke Lovers To The Future Of Karaoke

Singaporean startup Charaku, the company behind Popsical, a smart, portable, cloud based karaoke streaming device, is introducing their brand-new product, the Popsical Remix. A prototype of this device was first unveiled at their booth #51641 in Hall G of Expo Sands at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2019 from 8-11 January 2019. Taking users into the future of karaoke, this brand-new device under their line continues to revolutionise the karaoke experience.

The Popsical Remix comprises of a palm-sized karaoke streaming device and 2 state-of-the-art wireless microphones. It promises the best karaoke experience with updated songs, vocal effects and seamless control with Popsical app.

Popsical was founded in 2016 by three karaoke enthusiasts who were determined to redefine the karaoke experience. While karaoke systems have been around for a long time, they are often large and bulky. Aside from the microphones and remote control, these systems require users to also have a mixer, as well as the karaoke device itself.

Taking Karaoke Experience to Another Level

Popsical has combined the mixer, wireless receiver for the microphones and streaming device into a single equipment - a palm-sized device that weighs less than one kilogram and can easily be carried around in a small bag or purse.

Dubbed Popsical Remix, the device grants the user access to a self-updating library of over 200,000 songs in 14 different languages, which are licensed from RIMSS (Recording Industry Music Services Singapore) and COMPASS (Composers and Authors Society of Singapore), providing a fun time for users of all races and ages. 

Forget old school tacky touchscreens or CDs, Popsical Remix is a cloud-based karaoke streaming device, which self-updates with the latest songs daily.

While the previous version of Popsical had to have a sound bar to connect its microphones, this version comes with an in-built microphone receiver and two professional grade wireless microphones, which is compatible with any sound system via an AUX connection.

Popsical Remix also takes the thrill factor of their karaoke experience up a notch with its wide range of special voice modulation effects* like the ‘chipmunk’, ‘alien’ and ‘ robotic’ effects as well as the in-built pitch optimization effect.

The self-updating library of songs is stored in cloud storage and boasts other features including a track request feature, track list queue and accommodating connectivity with multiple devices. Users can even suggest songs that are not already in the cloud via the Popsical Karaoke app, and Popsical will add them in later. Content is available on their platforms with a 24-hour subscription package at S$4.99, or a monthly fee of S$10.99.

To keep the experience user-friendly and seamless, the Popsical Remix can be controlled easily with the Popsical Karaoke app, which is available on both iOS App store, and Google Playstore. The app allows for karaoke enthusiasts to browse and select their songs by genre, artist, title or language, to create favourite playlists, add songs to the play queue, adjust mic echo, pitch controls, volume, speed and a variety of fun sound effects. One can also sing like a professional or a chipmunk with the pitch optimization, and pre-set vocal modulation effects like the Chipmunk, monster, alien and more.

The company made its first entrance into the Singapore market in 2017 and subsequently into the Malaysian market in 2018. It also just opened its first flagship store in Malaysia in the Mid Valley Megamall, Kuala Lumpur, Level 3, T013E. Expansion plans into other countries will take place within the 2nd quarter of 2019.
