It supplies an extensive range of battery products to original equipment manufacturers and leading battery companies as well as consumer retail markets under its own “GP” brand name.

Consumers across the world increasingly value products that are created in a green and environmentally sustainable way. For batteries specifically the environmental footprint of battery production and the recycling of batteries, have captured the public’s attention and a company’s ecological track record is now an important factor considered by shoppers.

As a socially responsible leading battery manufacturer, GP Batteries adheres to strict safety requirements and complies with the highest international safety standards. It is committed to producing safe and harmless products for consumers through green and environment-friendly raw materials and processes. The ECV Certificate from UL reflects GP Batteries’ unremitting efforts and achievements in green and environmental protection. Through the document review and on-site audit by UL, it has been confirmed that the two NiMH rechargeable batteries validated by UL ECVP 2809 deploy 10% recycled materials as raw materials for production. This not only protects natural resources, but also reduces the generation of waste during production, making a positive contribution to the environment.

The ECV certification from UL has long been a powerful tool for product manufacturers to gain consumer trust in green and environmental protection and differentiate themselves in a highly competitive marketplace. What’s more, manufacturers whose products have achieved the ECV certification from UL can validate its environmental claims and use the ECV badge on their product packaging and marketing materials. With ease and convenience, this badge demonstrates that products have been tested by a neutral third-party and meet corresponding environmental protection requirements. Additionally, all validated products are featured on UL SPOT™— the largest credible green product database in the industry. This free online database allows professional and other purchasers to inquire and identify products by product category, company name, product name, or type of claim.

This ECV Certificate issued by UL is just one of the milestones on GP Batteries’ journey to green and environmental protection. The strategic cooperation agreement for the Ecologo project signed at the ceremony commits UL and GP batteries to long-term and in-depth strategic cooperation in the field of environmental protection.

According to the agreement, UL will provide GP Batteries with reliable third-party product certification services to promote its continuously enhanced development momentum and innovation capabilities in green and environmental protection, thus gaining competitive advantages in the increasingly environment-friendly market. In this regard, Boris FENG, global vice president and managing director of UL Greater China, said that, “Green and environmental protection is not only a common trend in the global market, but also a differentiation advantage urgently needed by product manufacturers. UL will continue to help manufacturers create quality products in a more environment-friendly way, and enable consumers to make smarter and more environment-friendly purchase decisions, thus jointly promoting the sustainable development of the society.”
