Wavin re-enters Indonesia with new suite of solutions to support sustainable development and local communities

Recognizing sustainable development as a critical component for economic recovery, Wavin marks its return to Indonesia by launching new pipe and fitting solutions that will bolster the rebuilding process and environmental efforts.

INDONESIA, 17 AUGUST 2020 – As the largest economy in Southeast Asia1, Indonesia is home to a rapidly-growing urban population2 that is navigating pressing challenges surrounding sanitation, water supply, urbanization, and sustainability, exacerbated by the ongoing pandemic. As the country’s water resources and infrastructure continue to face increasing pressure, the Indonesian government has implemented commendable solutions to address these pertinent issues, such as the national PAMSIMAS Program3 which is providing millions with water and sanitation facilities. In alignment with Indonesia’s recovery efforts and focus on sustainable development, Wavin, the world-leading solutions provider for the building and infrastructure industry, announces its return to Indonesia by launching a new suite of innovative pipe and fittings solutions. Wavin’s solutions, which range from piping and fittings, indoor climate to cable ducting, will be launched under the theme Warisan Masa Depan, with the goal of building a healthier and more sustainable built environment for future generations in Indonesia. With the Indonesian government continuing to drive forward large-scale infrastructural developments 4, including expanding clean tap water coverage in Jakarta5 to curb the potential spread of COVID-19, these solutions will help equip the industry with effective tools for safe and sustainable development.

“With access to safe water and hygiene being more critical than ever to families, Wavin is committed to continuous innovation that will keep Indonesia liveable and sustainable,” said Mr. Freek Crum, President, Wavin APAC. “Wavin looks forward to collaborating with all stakeholders, from public and private sectors to local communities, as the nation navigates the global outbreak.”

Recognizing that quality, safe and cost-efficient components are key to Indonesia’s sustainable development and the economic recovery process, Wavin is introducing a range of specialized solutions to the market in 2020, including:

  • Wavin SiTech+: Offers optimal sound absorption through triple layer pipes, making it ideal for multistorey facilities particularly sensitive to noise like hotels, offices, hospitals, elderly homes, and libraries. With 20% more weight, SiTech+ is a game-changer setting new market standards. More weight also means less noise and increased robustness.
  • Wavin AS+: Wavin offers the world’s best-performing low noise soil and waste systems. For over 30 years, the Wavin AS has been the first choice for architects and building system designers. Now, Wavin AS+ will offer even greater noise reduction and faster installation time. Due to its innovative, patented blue seal, Wavin AS+ requires no lubricant.
  • Wavin Tigris K5/M5: Another Wavin “World’s First” in the industry – setting new standards as the first industry leader to introduce multilayer pipe fittings with an Acoustic Leak Alert – an integrated leak detection system that helps easily trace leaks in pipe systems.

With over 70 years of experience in the building and infrastructure industries, In Indonesia, Wavin is committed to investing in the growth of the industry and hiring local talent for its workforce, as well as bringing new innovations tailored to the market. Wavin will also support relationships with public sector stakeholders, contractors, and installers to help further Indonesia’s sustainable development goals in transforming its cities to be future-proof, and buildings to be comfortable, clean, safe, and energy-efficient.
