Confidence brings success. ……and also money.

Let me set the scene here….it’s Tuesday morning in New Orleans and it is hot. I woke up early with a feeling of accomplishment and pizzaz that I was ready for what the day brought. Was I the first one up and about in the apartment? Oh boy, what a rush! I felt like I was leading our team into battle. Just finished making a solid Thomas’ blueberry bagel with cream cheese and turkey when the CEO of Raisoft (Robert) comes in the front door. He has been awake for a while walking to his new coffee spot to meet some random teacher and have his business calls to Australia. And just like that my feeling of being a leader on our team flew away.

You see, Robbie, as the cool kids call him, had a very good routine of getting up early for business calls and coffee. I often called him our wildcard on the trip. He would strike up a convo with anyone and they would end up really enjoying his sense of humor 🙄. Luckily this wild card also had his faults. He would often leave his zipper down. What a guy! He had been walking around for hours with his fly open. He tried to play it off as a test for people’s character, if they would mention it to him or not. Haha nice try Robbie. Anyways, I should stop there about our wildcard, in case he decides he has had enough of Lawrence at Raisoft 😁.

Day two of the event was great. We had a good meetings with investors and met a lot of people. We still had one more day at the event and that would be spent exhibiting our product and enlightening the crowd with these three minute workouts. The excitement was growing. I saw some pretty cool inventions at this event and some not so cool ones. One that frightened me was the stun gun phone case. It was loud and awesome. They had a good crowd around them and people were really interested but you can see how scared they were when the tester turned it on. Faces went from wow to whoa in less than a second. There were lots of robots that were walking or rolling around the event. I don’t get these robots, I mean they moved so slow. But if they had robots that could watch my kids or even just scare them into not moving for long periods of time, I’m in. I did hear about a smart bra there. Now I’m not sure how it works and I don’t want to guess about what it does in case someone takes offense on what my opinion is. Cue Robbie 😁😎.

Exhibiting day was here and we were ready. After a good night at Collision’s Night Summit listening to music and drinking “smart water”. Smart Break was ready for it’s day! We received a lot of feedback that was positive and only a couple of questions that threw us for a loop. But that is what we wanted, we wanted opinions that maybe we didn’t think of. Luckily wild card Robbie and his wonderful wife Katja were killing it and had answers for all those zingers. Katja and Robbie were all over the event bringing people around and making good connections. My partner in crime Johan, had a little tougher day having to go back and forth from the apartment and the convention center due to the 5th Smart Breaker getting really sick. Johan is a professional and toughed it out and was there showing his experience at these events.

We had a great presence at the event. Confidence brings success! I feel the same way about football (soccer), I may not be the best technical player, but when I’m beaming with confidence, look out!!! That night we celebrated the good start to our expansion to the US. We did exactly what we came to New Orleans to do, promote ourselves and make connections. Good thing we had wild card Robbie under close watch at the event. It’s tough to have on a “do you have 3 minutes” shirt with your zipper down 😁😁.
