The Economist launches new competition to give students a voice

“Your take” is a new competition from The Economist that gives students the opportunity to illustrate how they see global issues. Together with Student Competitions, they challenge students to share their perspectives on a thought-provoking topic.

Opinions, no matter how controversial, are an important part of The Economist, and in launching the “Your take” competition, The Economist aims to give students at all levels a chance to express their view on an issue that is important to them. Through a photograph, drawing or cartoon, with a question or a statement that gets to the heart of the issue, students have the opportunity to showcase a topic they are passionate about in a marketing campaign run by The Economist.

The first prize includes a free trip to London to join the editorial team at their weekly meeting in which they discuss the latest stories from around the globe. The second prize is a delegate seat to an Economist conference, and the winner of the third prize will receive an annual digital subscription to The Economist.
