  • This year’s Guest of Honour Neri&Hu highlights social issues in an installation

    This year’s Guest of Honour – the award-winning Chinese design and architecture office Neri&Hu – is creating an installation at Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair that highlights social issues unique to China. The traditional Chinese village, which is disappearing at an alarming rate, is depicted in the installation.

  • The creation of the design objects in the Nationalmuseum’s new restaurant in an exhibition at Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair

    An exhibition at Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair will be entitled “NM & A New Collection”. It will exhibit the joint creation of the Nationalmuseum’s new restaurant. The exhibition shows the process surrounding the interior design of the restaurant and the production of eighty new interior objects as well as the work on the renovation of the museum.

  • Diversity and awareness in Greenhouse

    Designers and design schools from all over the world are invited to apply to Greenhouse, Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair’s area for unestablished designers. The jury has now selected the exhibitors for 2019, which include Kajsa Melchior Eriksson, Begüm Cana Özgür and Nikolaj Thrane Carlsen. In total, 37 designers/design groups and 29 design schools from 20 countries will participate.

  • Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair establishes a new design award – Born Classic

    Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair is establishing a new design award – Born Classic – in collaboration with the auction house Bukowskis, which will form the jury. The award will go to a piece of furniture or lighting that has qualities that could make it a design classic of the future. The objective is to bring attention to and encourage good, long lasting design.

  • Top international names to visit Stockholm Design & Architecture Talks

    Alice Rawsthorn, design critic and journalist, Joel Sanders, architect, and Tom Dixon, designer, will be three of the guest speakers at Stockholm Design & Architecture Talks, the Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair’s forum for knowledge and discussions within the area of design and architecture.

  • Greenhouse Bar and Exhibition: The Bridge

    What just might be Stockholm’s longest table will be on display at Greenhouse, Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair’s jury-assessed area for young, unestablished designers and design schools. The designers behind the table, duo Thau & Kallio, have been given the assignment to design Greenhouse Bar and Café as well as an exhibition under the direction of the Materials Library.

    Designer and set designer Sahara Widoff was given the assignment to create Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair’s exhibition Temperament, which aims to take the temperature of contemporary Scandinavian design and interior architecture.

    Stockholm Design & Architecture Talks is the forum at Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair for knowledge and in-depth learning and where people from the design and architecture industry across the world gather. The theme for 2019 is Challenges for the Future.

  • Design Bar in the eye of the storm

    The Norwegian design studio Anderssen & Voll has been given the assignment to create the Design Bar for Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair, February 5-9, 2019. This time, the menu is being created in collaboration with Frida Ronge, Culinary Director at the restaurants Tak and UNN in Stockholm.

  • Neri&Hu named Guest of Honour 2019

    Lyndon Neri and Rossana Hu, founding partners of the award-winning Chinese Neri&Hu, an inter-disciplinary architectural design practice, have received the assignment to create an installation at Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair. This is the 16th time the Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair has invited a well-respected international designer or architect to create an installation.

  • One-third of all visitors to Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair come from abroad

    Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair continues to grow and strengthen its position as the world’s largest meeting place for Scandinavian furniture and lighting design. The fair, which ended last weekend, saw a total of 31 percent overseas visitors representing a record number of 100 countries.

  • Winners of Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair´s award Editors’ Choice 2018

    Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair’s award - Editors’ Choice - will be handed out for the third consecutive year. The jury consists of Editors-in-Chief from several of Europe’s most important design forums. The 2018 jury consists of Marcus Fairs, Dezeen; Adeline Seidel, Stylepark; Donatella Bollani, Domus and Costas Voyatzis, Yatzer.
