    The Nordic design award, Formex Nova, is being recognized at the DesignMarch International Design Festival, which is held in Reykjavik on March 28-31. This through an exhibition at The Nordic House in the middle of town where all the nominees of the year are presented, and last year's winner Ragna Ragnarsdóttir has her own department.

    The European Association for the Study of Diabetes, EASD, has decided to hold its annual meeting 2021 in Stockholm. It will be the fifth time the event is being held in Stockholm and for Stockholmsmässan the result of a long-term and strategic work has once again proven to give great results.

    ​Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair – a growing force on the international design scene

    Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair, which came to a close this past weekend, continues to grow andstrengthen its position as the world’s leading event for Scandinavian design. Of the visitors to this year’s fair, 31.5 % came from abroad, representing 99 different countries. Interest and participation in Stockholm Design Week are also continuing to grow.

    Europe’s largest Salvador Dalí exhibition visits Stockholm

    A successful collaboration between Stockholmsmässan, the City of Stockholm and Mollbrinks Konst has made it possible to bring the largest exhibition to date of Salvador Dalí’s bronze sculptures to Stockholm on February 14–17 in parallel with the Antiques Fair. The three largest sculptures are already on display in the middle of Stockholm for all to view until February 17.

    Winner of Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair’s new award – Born Classic - is Mirror, produced by Swedese and designed by Front. The award is a collaboration with the auction house Bukowskis, which form the jury; Eva Seeman, Henrik Åberg, and Jonatan Jahn.

    This year’s Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair features a lot of wood and the most recent trends in Scandinavian design

    This year’s Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair will be held February 5–9.The fair’s exhibitions will feature a lot of wood and visitors will be able to listen to lectures by internationally acclaimed designers and architects. On Saturday, February 9, the fair opens to all design lovers who would like to see the most recent trends within lighting and furniture.

    Nordbygg 2020 coming to life

    Nordbygg 2018 was judged by exhibitors and visitors to be the best edition ever. The exhibitors especially appreciated a record international interest, something that confirms that the fair is the industry’s foremost in the Nordics and the Baltics. Right now, the Nordbygg team is working to make Nordbygg 2020, April 21 - 24, at least as appreciated.

    Renaissance in wood

    One clear trend in interior architecture and design is the growing interest in wood. Swedish coniferous trees in particular appear to be back in favor. At this year’s Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair, which will be held February 5-9, the fair’s exhibitions will feature a lot of pine and spruce.

    Nordic Designer of the Year – Formex NOVA award – nominees appointed

    Formex has established the Formex NOVA award – Nordic Designer of the Year, to promote high-quality Nordic design created by a still relatively unknown designer working in the Nordic interior design industry. A jury appoints the nominees for the award. The winner will be presented 20 August.

    CEO Patric Sjöberg will leave Stockholmsmässan in May 2019

    After eleven years as CEO of Stockholmsmässan, Patric Sjöberg will move on to a new top job within the tourism industry. Starting on June 1, he will become the CEO of Stromma Group, an international group with a wide selection of activities for both tourists and business travelers in several countries. The Board of Directors is now initiating a recruitment process to find a new CEO.

    van Deurs wins Formex Formidable 2018 design award

    The jury-assessed award, Formex Formidable 2018, goes to van Deurs for its pleated shawl. The designer is Susanne Beskow. The honorary ‘People’s Choice’ award, which is determined by the public, goes to Skeppshults gjuteri for its ”Spice” mill designed by Carl & Carl.
