Stockholm Design Week – the year’s most important week for Scandinavian design will soon be here

Buyers, architects, designers and journalists from all over the world will be coming to Stockholm to attend Stockholm Design Week and Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair in Week 6.
With the fair as the hub, the city will be buzzing with almost 200 design events, exhibitions, mingles and parties. This year’s Design Week will also present for the first time 25h Design.

The following are some of this year’s highlights:

25h Design, February 8–9
Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair has initiated 25h Design, a new design festival open to the public. Starting on Friday, February 8, at 4:00 p.m., Stockholm’s design scene will offer events and workshops for the public. Mingle and be inspired together with other design enthusiasts. On Saturday, February 9, Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair will open its doors to the public, offering everyone the opportunity to come see the newest products before they arrive in stores. www.25hdesign.comwww.stockholmfurniturefair.com

Bukowskis x Magniberg - SIE WOHNEN HIER, February 5–9
Bukowskis, Berzelii Park 1
The exhibition has been curated by Magniberg, an internationally acclaimed design group that is participating in Stockholm Design Week for the first time. The exhibition features select art and design from Bukowskis alongside Magniberg’s textiles and colorful cubist furniture. www.bukowskis.com

Färg & Blanche: The Baker’s House, February 5–9
Julius Hus, Bondegatan 21A
Färg & Blanche present a personal exhibition in the 1889 apartment of Emma Blanche’s great-great-grandfather. The design duo will display new objects, installations and furniture inspired by the family’s history and the crisp bread factory they once owned.

R-evolve, February 4–10
Jussi Björlings Allé 5, Kungsträdgården
Malmö-based Stoft Studio is formed by three award-winning industrial designers: Jenny Ekdahl, Ola Nystedt and Joel Herslow.At the Volvo Studio at Kungsträdgården, they will create an exhibition where visitors are able to see forms, materials and objects from different angles.

Salvador Dalí’s sculptures, February 5–18
Norrmalmstorg, Brunkebergstorg and Kungsträdgården
Several of Salvador Dalí’s bronze sculptures will be on display in Stockholm in February. The three largest sculptures – one of which is five meters high and weighs three tons – will be placed in the middle of Stockholm for all to view starting on February 5. Another thirty sculptures will be on display February 14–17 at Stockholmsmässan during the Antique Fair. www.antikmassan.se

Ung Svensk Form (Young Swedish Design), February 5–March 31
ArkDes, Skeppsholmen
Young Swedish Design is a jury-assessed award and a traveling exhibition. At ArkDes the exhibition will display product design, fashion, craftsmanship, architecture and more. http://ungsvenskform.se/usf-2019

Stockholm Design Week will be held February 4–10.
