Älvsjö gård – Stockholm Furniture Fair’s new platform for experimental, research driven and collectible design

Älvsjö gård is a new platform for experimental, research driven and collectible design, set in one of the oldest still existing manors in Stockholm. With its close proximity to the fair ground of Stockholm Furniture Fair it has a unique position to showcase limited and small scale design to a wide audience. Stockholm Furniture Fair have invited design galleries, makers, independent artist and designers to exhibit their work in 13 rooms set over two floors. The numbers of visitors are regulated and there is no wheelchair or stroller access.

– Being able to offer a platform with experimental work and highly crafted furniture right next to our traditional furniture fair is an important part of our strategy moving forward. We want to mirror what’s happening in the design industry,” says Hanna Nova Beatrice, project manager for Stockholm Furniture Fair and Stockholm Design Week.

Exhibitors 2023 include Tableu from Denmark, Pyton Gallery and Kiosken from Norway and Stockholm Modern, Coulisse Gallery and Veermakers from Sweden. The artist Fredrik Nielsen showcases the installation Mixed Emotions, as shown at the Loewe exhibition in 2022, and the curated exhibition New Narratives shows new and unique work from a number of Swedish designers and artists. Other exhibitors are Tokio from Slovenia, Navet from Sweden and the Swedish sculptor and designer Kajsa Melchior.
