Christian Clemens has been named the new CEO of Stockholmsmässan. Christian most recently held the position of CEO for the airline BRA, Braathens Regional Airlines. He will take over as head of Stockholmsmässan in January 2020.

Stockholmsmässan, the Nordic region’s largest exhibition and congress center, has been owned since 1964 by Stockholm Chamber of Commerce and the City of Stockholm. Thanks to its large number of national and international exhibitions, congresses and corporate events, Stockholmsmässan is an important part of the capital’s hospitality industry.

“The recruitment of Christian Clemens strengthens Stockholmsmässan’s ability to develop new business models. Stockholmsmässan can now look to the future with a CEO who enables this meeting hub to consolidate its position as the most important in the Nordic region,” says Mayor of Stockholm Anna König Jerlmyr, who also chairs Stockholmsmässan’s Board of Directors.

Andreas Hatzigeorgiou, CEO of Stockholm Chamber of Commerce and Deputy Chair of Stockholmsmässan’s Board, is pleased with the appointment:
“Stockholmsmässan plays a key role in the business and attractiveness of the region. The market for exhibitions and meetings is changing rapidly due to megatrends such as digitalization. It is therefore extremely important for us to recruit a CEO who is able to develop the company for a new future. Christian brings extensive experience from the travel industry, and is fully capable of developing Stockholmsmässan’s role as a leading meeting venue and a magnet for both exhibitors and visitors.”

Christian Clemens has most recently held the position of CEO for the airline BRA. He was also previously CEO of TUI in the Nordic region, TUI in Germany and Ving Gruppen. Christian will take over his new role as CEO of Stockholmsmässan on January 7, 2020.

“Stockholmsmässan is an incredibly interesting, exciting, and multi-faceted organization that is very important for the capital’s ability to attract visitors and companies. It will be incredibly exciting to take on this role,” says Christian Clemens.
“I am confident that my previous experience in the industry from selling exhibition travel packages, developing business opportunities and introducing digitalization with a customer focus will prove useful for Stockholmsmässan’s continued development.”
