Design legend Zandra Rhodes is coming to Formex
Zandra Rhodes is a legend in the design world. Her colorful, flowing clothes have been worn by royalty and celebrity rock stars. At 78, she remains as relevant as ever – with new collections and her own museum. Zandra Rhodes will be the Formex Guest Influencer for the fair in January 2019.
Zandra Rhodes will be celebrating 50 years as a designer next year. It all started with studies at the Royal Arts College in London in the 1960s. She has now founded a fashion and textile museum in the same city.
“Zandra Rhodes is a superstar and iconic in her design. A real influencer in the true meaning of the word, known for her colorful design. She was trained as a textile designer, and she has been making clothes for years for celebrities like Princess Diana of Wales, Debbie Harry, Kylie Minogue, Paris Hilton, Helen Mirren and others. She was punk before punk existed,” says Lotta Ahlvar, Event Manager at Formex.
Zandra Rhodes will be the Formex Guest Influencer for the fair January 15-18, 2019. Visitors will be able to draw inspiration from her interior design solutions.
“I'm very excited to be coming to Formex and being part of such a fabulous exhibition,” says Zandra Rhodes.
She is interested in Scandinavian design and interiors.
“I admire so much about Scandinavian design. I admire Marimekko for its purity, originality and distinctiveness. Ikea is another inspiration for how that amazing company answers so many questions on what is essential yet practical and needed in life – sheer brilliance,” says Zandra Rhodes.
