Eclectic Touch – diversity and mixture at Formex

Mix and match: matte and shiny, vivid and neutral, conventional and original. The trend theme at the Formex interiors and design fair on 15-18 August 2013 is Eclectic Touch – affirmative and indulgent, with an intuitive feel.

The spirit of the times is cheering on the self-aware mixer. This fall’s Eclectic Touch trend theme is a harmonious patchwork quilt of furniture and objects with different modes of expression. The boundaries between past, present and future, distant and near, playfulness and seriousness have all been erased. The diffuse comes into focus and the superficial reveals hidden depths.

- “The expression ‘stylistic purity’ has never felt less relevant. Far from it, we’re still firmly under the spell of the lavish spectrum of diversity, mixing epochs, colors, materials and patterns like never before. The theme inspires and encourages us to mix our favorites and let our inner artist free,” explains Chicie Lindgren, Event Manager of Formex.

Rustic settings form a backdrop for a lively platform – a theater of contrasts, where the set designer is a laid-back impressionist intuitively instilling a personal touch and giving cool stability to the untamed modern flow of impressions. It’s an esthetic collage, where deep shades of gray, blue and brown create an elegant symbiosis with warm brick red, brandy, precious gem and metallic colors. Adding a splash of wide-awake neon gives an instant contemporary feel.
