Formex breaks several records this fall

This fall’s Formex was bigger than ever before, with record numbers of visitors: 25,959 visitors in all, which is 218 more than the previous record from fall 2009.

Interest from abroad continues to grow. The biggest visitor nation is Finland, with 567 visitors. Then comes Norway with 144 visitors, followed by Denmark, which moves into third place with 93 visitors.

“These are incredibly pleasing figures. These record-breaking visitor numbers at this fall’s Formex and the enormous interest being shown by foreign visitors, especially from our neighbors in Scandinavia, confirms our position today as the Nordic region’s biggest trade fair within the interior design and gift industry. We have invested more in the Nordic region this fall, with the new Nordic Area and the new design prize Nova – Nordic designer of the year. The outcome shows that this was absolutely the right thing to do,” says Chicie Lindgren, Project Manager, Formex.

“We received a lot of praise for our inspirational exhibitions and program of seminars, which were bigger this fall than previously, with two stages. On the initiative of our partner PUFF, Presentgrossisternas Förening (association of gift wholesalers), we also collected a total of SEK 75,000 for Save the Children and the crisis in the horn of Africa,” says Chicie.

The exhibition also had more exhibitors than previously. Interest from the press and media was record high, with 907 accredited press members.

From this fall onward Formex in the fall will always take place in week 33.

The next Formex will take place on January 19-22, 2012 at Stockholmsmässan.
The public can now visit www.formex.se and vote for this year’s Formex formidable product – the People’s Choice. Presentation of the award will take place on January 19, 2012.

Formex is the meeting place for news, business opportunities, trends, knowledge and inspiration. The exhibition takes place twice a year, attracting 900 exhibitors, 26,000 trade visitors and 900 media representatives.
