Formex January 2026 – More Exhibitors and an Industry Moving Forward
When Formex opened its doors in January, visitors were welcomed by a fair showing renewed optimism With more exhibitors than last year and over 7000 visitors discovering the season’s trends over three days, this year’s first edition was a clear sign: the industry is coming back.
“It has been fantastic to see the fair grow — more exhibitors, more business, and an energy that makes the floor buzz. We also see great interest and curiosity from exhibitors and partners who haven’t participated for a while. It’s a strong indication that spreads confidence and shows that physical marketplaces like Formex are more important than ever,” says Sonja Björk Ebert, Project Manager for Formex.
Entrance Exhibition – Cake Celebration
The entrance hall was transformed into an imaginative cake installation designed by Saša Antić and Niklas Hansen. Giant cake pieces, candles, and playful details gave visitors a feeling of stepping into a magical world full of color and surprises.
Garden Party – 90 Meters of Inspiration
In collaboration with Alcro Studio and Lena Nyholm, 15 creators crafted a 90-meter-long showcase of personally styled tables. Each installation was based on two colors from Alcro’s color chart. The result was a vibrant environment where visitors found inspiration in everything from ceramics and paintings to tufted artworks — a creative mix showcasing the diversity and expressiveness of today's designers.
Tulip of the Year 2026 – Icoon
Formex also introduced a new award, Tulip of the Year, in partnership with the Swedish Flower Promotion Association (Blomsterfrämjandet). The first award went to the Icoon tulip, a double tulip in warm orange hues that symbolize one of the colors of spring.

Formex offered trend insights, networking, and inspiration as national and international buyers, designers, producers, stylists, and media gathered.
Next Formex will take place August 25–27, 2026 at Stockholmsmässan.
