Formex Sparks Optimism as Exhibitors Report Record Success

Just over a week has passed since Formex closed its doors, and the results point to a bright future for the interior design industry. The autumn edition clearly showed a growing sense of optimism, with many exhibitors reporting record sales and strong interest from both national and international retailers. With around 8,000 visitors from 43 different countries and 358 exhibitors from 16 countries, Formex continues to be a central meeting place for forging valuable business connections and presenting the latest trends in the world of interiors.

“Formex is more than just a trade fair – it’s a place where ideas come to life, where connections are made, and where the future of our industry takes shape. Being able to provide a platform for our exhibitors to reach out and see them exceed their own expectations makes me incredibly proud,” says Sonja Björk Ebert, Project Manager for Formex.

Karin Westin, who runs Mitt & Ditt Underbara Liv, enjoys breaking the daily routine by attending Formex. This autumn, they even set a new sales record.

“We love the physical meeting place and the chance to connect with customers and colleagues that Formex offers. We could never have dreamed of the fantastic response we received this time. Sales-wise, we reached an all-time high. The feeling that we’ve nailed our product range gives us great confidence in the future, and we’re heading home with hearts full of joy, inspiration, and the drive to keep moving forward,” says Karin Westin, CEO of Mitt & Ditt Underbara Liv AB.

The newly established company Everlastings exhibited at Formex for the first time and saw participation as a natural step in their search for retailers.

“We’re absolutely overwhelmed by all the positive feedback. We knew we offered exciting and unique products, but we never imagined we’d receive the kind of response and results we got at the fair. Now we have a wealth of new contacts to nurture, and of course, this gives us plenty of enthusiasm and energy to keep developing Everlastings,” says Nicolas Besserer, Creative Director at Everlastings.

Formex Design Talents, a space that always buzzes with innovation and optimism, is an area where emerging designers, both from Sweden and internationally, can apply to exhibit and showcase their products to buyers, producers, and the media. This autumn, interest was higher than ever, with over 70 applications, prompting Formex to expand the area. One of the selected talents was Simon Hallgren, the designer behind the UNÚM vase.

“Standing at Formex and receiving so much love and praise was truly amazing. The fact that we got orders resulting in retailers from Malmö to Kiruna, and even in Norway, Denmark, Finland, and Germany, is something I still can’t quite believe,” says Simon Hallgren.

Formex returns on January 17–19, 2025, at Stockholmsmässan. Learn more at www.formex.se.
