Reliability and Cleanliness in focus at conference September 8, 2016

In the financial and real estate world we often discuss economic bubbles and when they are expected to burst. In the electronics industry our equivalent to bubbles is the risk of poor cleanliness and long term product reliability.

Stockholmsmässan and the Swedish Electronics Association both see one of its main tasks to assist at Swedish electronics industry to be at the forefront when it comes to delivering electronic products of the highest quality and reliability to customers located in all corners of the world.

Part of this work was to utilize production capacity at the electronics trade fair S.E.E.2016 (April 19-21) to manufacture printed circuit boards where parameters such as stencil, solder paste, surface finish and soldering parameters were varied several times a day. Each circuit board was numbered and its unique production process documented. During the fair, X-ray, optical inspected circuit boards and other process data was collected for assessment
In addition to tests at S.E.E.2016 the majority of circuit boards produced are at the following laboratories and specialists to be examined and analyzed as follows:

Bob Willis - Solderability, X-ray, AOI (Automatic Optical Inspection) & SPI Solder Paste Inspection results.

NPL (National Physical Laboratories) in the UK - perform the SIR (Surface Insulation Resistance) tests using standard relative humidity and special condensation testing on modified IPC-B-52 cards produced on S.E.E.2016.

Zestron GmbH in Germany - performing IC (Ion Chromatography) and cleaning trials based on boards produced on S.E.E.2016.

Fraunhofer ISIT in Germany, Sverea in Gothenburg and Hytek in Denmark - performing reliability tests on solder joints different joints on different boards produced on S.E.E.2016.

Bob Willis and representatives from these reputable laboratories, will present the results at the conference "Reliability and Cleanliness 2016" led by moderator Lars Wallin.

All presentation documents and results from testing are only available to those present the conference as part of helping Swedish electronics industry to minimize the risks of unwanted field failures causing significant costs to industry

The entire exhibition and delegate part of the conference "Reliability and Cleanliness 2016" organized by Stockholmsmässan and Swedish Electronics is now open for registration, announces Magnus Eriksson, responsible for the whole event.

The easiest way to register for this unique conference is to go to www.see-event.se/reliability-and-purity-2016
