Press release -

Stockholm Design Week

The official Stockholm Design Week is celebrating its 20th anniversary with a wide range of design events all over Stockholm city on September 5–11. The week is aimed at professionals in the design industry and members of the public with an interest in design.

Events, exhibitions, talks, open design studios and showrooms will turn the spotlight on the dynamic Scandinavian design scene, with new design talents and start-ups being showcased alongside more established names. The week is a key business event for the industry, but also open to the public.

“We’re seeing many companies, organisations and designers coming on board,” says Stockholm Design Week’s Project Area Manager, Hanna Nova Beatrice. “The participants include many established companies such as Massproductions, Bolon, Svenskt Tenn, Blå Station, Montana, Gemla and Fogia, as well as complete newcomers such as Noon. As the official design week, our mission is to engage and inspire both professionals in the design industry and the public, while also promoting the Scandinavian design industry.”

The first Stockholm Design Week was held in February 2002, and ever since the organiser Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair has tied together all the different design activities taking place in Stockholm. In September, the staging of Stockholm Design Week will be enhanced with an interactive app that lists all the participating companies, along with the exhibitions, showrooms and events taking place across the city. The app will provide visitors with a clear overview and enable all the companies to reach their target group.

Visitors can expect several soft launches of new products ahead of Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair in February 2023, a major curated press program for both Swedish and international media in Stockholm and a varied talks and open studio-program. There will also be a pre launch of selected new content for Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair 2023. From 2023 onwards Stockholm Design Week return to its regular dates in February.
