Stockholm Design Week celebrates Scandinavian design in September

Stockholm Design Week is celebrating its 20th anniversary with a week highlighting Scandinavian design on September 5–11. The program includes open showrooms and studios, inspiring exhibitions, launches and talks. Stockholm Design Week is open to the public, but also offers a long awaited opportunity for the industry to come together. The official partner for Stockholm Design Week is LG Electronics.

Stockholm Design Week in September is the first official design week in Stockholm since the onset of the pandemic. Around 70 leading Scandinavian design and furniture brands will participate with major exhibitions and new launches including Wästberg, Hem, Massproductions, Blå Station, Fogia, Offecct, Verk, Muuto and Svenskt Tenn. You can find the full list here

The Stockholm Design Week hub at NK offers the exhibition MOVING FORWARD, highlighting current tendencies in Scandinavian design. Curated by renowned Norwegian stylists Kråkvik&D'Orazio, the exhibition showcase young talents and established brands paving a way forward, and combines new autumn launches with atelier pieces. NK will play host to a number of exhibitions during the week including Jotun, the limited edition design space Cream and the new brand Ingridsdotter with Made in Sweden pieces by iconic designer Jonas Bohlin.

At the end of the week the OPEN SPACE program, organised by Stockholm Design Week, offers a rare glimpse of a number of Stockholm ateliers and spaces, seldom open to the public. Visits include the home and workshop of Åke Axelsson, the home of the ceramicist Calle Forsberg and a renovated apartment designed by Giò Ponti in the Italian Institute. The tickets will be available via Eventbrite.

During the opening night of Stockholm Design Week at NK the Guest of Honour for Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair 2023 will be presented. The official partner for Stockholm Design Week is LG Electronics.

In 2023 Stockholm Design Week will return to its traditional date in February coinciding with Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair.
