Stockholm Design Week marks its 20th anniversary with the launch of an interactive app and a new exhibition concept - The Library

For the upcoming Stockholm Design Week anniversary in 2022 Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair launch a new interactive SDW-app listing all the city exhibitions aswell as a new exhibition concept at the fair called The Library. The later is a curated exhibition space where companies can show one or two new launches instead of booking an entire fair stand.

Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair launched Stockholm Design Week in 2002 with an aim to gather all exhibitions and events taking place in Stockholm during the fair. Since then the annual February week is a calendar must with buyers, architects, designers and journalists from all over the world. For the upcoming edition of Stockholm Design Week Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair launch a number of initatives to further enhance the experience for the visitors and strengthen the bonds between the city and the fair.

“It feels natural to develop the overall experience of Stockholm Design Week and at the same time create more synergies between the fair and the city. We want to offer more flexibility and more options for those who want to exhibit at the fair as well as in the city,” says Hanna Nova Beatrice, Project Area Manager for Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair and Stockholm Design Week.

Interactive SDW-app
The new interactive Stockholm Design week app launching in 2022 will list exhibitions, showrooms and events taking place across the city. The app will give visitors a clear overview of all the events happening throughout the week, and help exhibitors reach their target audience.

“Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair has added great value with this new app; it will help visitors, exhibitors and journalists to find their way and it is making it easier for our clients and their visitors to meet,” says Karin Sköldberg, Founder and Creative Director at Swedish PR agency Trendgruppen.

The Library
The Library is a brand new exhibition concept at Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair offering companies exhibiting in the city an opportunity to showcase one or two news at the fair instead of booking a full stand. The set designer Sophia Bratt is in charge of styling the 2022 edition.

“This year we have decided to make a large scale installation and bar in our city showroom rather than exhibiting at the fair. The Library gives us an opportunity to showcase meet the fair visitor too,” says Jacob Olsheden, Director of Marketing at Johanson Design.

Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair 2022 will also curate an exhibition in a city centre location and open a pop up design week bar, serving as a meeting point during Stockholm Design Week. More information about these activities will follow shortly.

Bus transfer between Stockholms design districts
Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair will offer a dedicated shuttle bus service between the design districts in the city. The transfer service is available during the fair’s first three days with designated bus stops in the various districts.

“We already know that the number of activities in the city centre is going to beat all previous records. Our interactive app, the bus transfer transporting our visitors between Stockholm’s different design areas and The Library will make it easier for our guests to catch it all,” adds Hanna Nova Beatrice in conclusion.
