Stockholmsmässan invest in the future of gastronomy - Gastronord to become an annual event starting in the fall of 2025

Gastronord, which for nearly forty active years has worked to connect stakeholders within the hotel, restaurant, and catering industries to discuss important industry issues, meet exhibitors, and attend interesting seminars, is now open. As Gastronord 2024 kicked off with a press conference on Tuesday morning, it did so with a strong focus on the future, sustainability, skills development, and industry advancement. Additionally, they announced the significant news that Gastronord, previously held biennial, will now become an annual event due to high demand from industry professionals.

- The gastronomic world is in a state of flux, and the need to transform our food systems to address food and health challenges is greater than ever. Sweden currently holds a prominent place on the gastronomic world map, and we at Stockholmsmässan want to create opportunities for the industry to meet and evolve. Therefore, it is extremely gratifying that after listening to the needs of the industry, we can now confirm that Gastronord will be an annual meeting place here at Stockholmsmässan, says Camilla Hållbro, Commercial Director at Stockholmsmässan.

The press conference was opened by Finance Councilor Karin Wanngård (S), who emphasized the importance of Stockholm as a global meeting place for the development of future food.

Our goal is to make Stockholm a global meeting place for the development of future food, where innovation, research, and business development can thrive. Gastronord and BigMeet are fantastic examples of how we can bring together the food and beverage industry to exchange ideas and create good and healthy food for the future, says Karin Wanngård, Finance Councilor (S).

Gastronord is held at Stockholmsmässan from April 9th to 11th, 2024, and will return already in the fall of 2025.
