Press release -

This is what 1,000 respondents thought of Nordbygg 2016

Nordbygg 2016 was visited by more younger people, more women and almost twice as many international visitors compared to the last fair. An industry event of high quality, where many visitors have influence on purchasing, is one summary.

More than 1,000 people took part in a large survey during the fair. Of those, more than 600 were visitors and the rest exhibitors.

Staunch figures
Nordbygg is number one when it comes to construction, property and HVAC events in Northern Europe.

“The figures are staunch and visitor loyalty is strong. The overall impression is a steady four out of five possible, which it has been for the past few events”, says Mikael Jansson, VP and survey lead at Fairlink, who conducted the survey, notes.

Eight out of ten visitors to Nordbygg work in the private sector. Most of them, 37 per cent, work in production. Other large visitor groups are clients or active in the regulatory part.

A full six out of ten have influence on purchasing in their work place.

More younger people
The number of women has increased significantly during the past few years. Since the last Nordbygg, the increase is 30 per cent, still 8 out of 10 are men.

“We see a trend reversal in age distribution. Earlier, the average age has been higher, we see that people in the beginning of their careers, that is under 34, has markedly increased. When it comes to events we usually speak of Generation Y, people who were born in the 80's and 90's. They like socialising and they appreciate experiences and events”, Mikael Jansson explains.

Offering knowledge
To offer knowledge is one way to reach this target group, and Nordbygg has clearly focused on that. Nordbygg has several elements that are recurrent from year to year. Renovera Energismart is one of those, which has been highlighted as very value-adding for several visitors.

Increased internationalization
Four out of ten are from the area around Lake Mälaren. Otherwise, the visitors come from all of Sweden. The share of foreign visitors has doubled and is at 13 per cent for this year.

“It is the strong construction market which attracts. Many German, Polish and Baltic companies see Nordbygg as the obvious gateway to the Scandinavian market, where the increase mainly is. Our Nordic neighbouring countries are faithful visitors and exhibitors since many years”, says Peter Söderberg, project lead for Nordbygg.
