Train & Rail 2025 – Innovation in Focus and a Fully Booked Exhibition Hall

The future of rail takes shape on 6–8 May at Stockholmsmässan. With a strong focus on innovation, a packed seminar programme, and a fully booked exhibition hall, Train & Rail 2025 is growing into an even larger meeting place for the railway industry. Compared to its inaugural year in 2023, the fair now boasts 74 brand new exhibitors.

The very last spot in the exhibition hall was claimed by MTR-Tech, a company specialising in train fleet maintenance and technological development. With that, Train & Rail 2025 is officially fully booked.

"It’s fantastic to see such great engagement from the industry. With 74 new exhibitors and a completely filled hall, Train & Rail truly proves that we are the Nordic region’s most important railway event," says Monika Johannesen Widholm, Project Manager for the fair.

An Opening Ceremony Setting the Tone for Three Days of Railway Focus
Train & Rail 2025 will be officially opened by Ulrika Heie, Chair of the Swedish Parliament's Transport Committee, and Björn Asplund, Customer Director of Alstom Sweden and Chair of SWEDTRAIN, on Tuesday 6 May at 09:15 at Stockholmsmässan. The opening marks the start of three intensive days filled with exhibitions, discussions, and a forward-looking focus for the railway sector.

Innovation on Stage – Smarter Solutions for More Efficient Reinvestments
One of this year’s most anticipated seminars is “Can Innovation and New Thinking Deliver More Efficient Railway Reinvestment Works?”, led by Stefan Gustavsson, CEO of Infranord. Together with industry experts from both the client and contractor sides, discussions will centre on new working methods, technological advancements, and how to achieve more railway for the money. Access the full seminar programme here.

Debut of "Employees of The Future" – A Joint Effort for Industry Skills Development
On the final day of the fair, Tuesday 8 May, the Employees of The Futureconcept will be launched – a new initiative highlighting the industry's skills needs and career opportunities. Participants include Järnvägsjobb.se, Vossloh, Trafikverket, Strukton, Infranord, Alstom, and Siemens, all contributing with inspiration, information, and interactive activities. Schools, students, training providers, and employers will come together in a joint programme designed to spark curiosity and strengthen pathways into railway professions.
